It was August 2011 when I wrote my first blog post. My intention was to encourage women to find joy of God in His steadfast presence in the midst of their worst circumstance.
I was excited to share what I was learning myself.
My tagline looking forward, pressing on, is what I believe God has called us to do when we are in the middle of the yuck.
I’ve always been intrigued by those who naturally seem to have a drive to press on.
See it through.
In spite the fact they are stuck in quicksand with a storm looming overhead, they continue to look forward and press on with perseverance.
Maybe you’re one of those people.
In my younger years I struggled with giving up on, and quitting everything I started.
Today, I may still struggle but I have no excuse because I don’t have to rely on my own strength. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13. Through His perseverance He gave us this priceless gift when He took God’s will all the way to the cross.
In December 2010 I met a young lady who made a huge impact on my desire to write about the unquenchable spirit to press on and finish well. Little did I know when I met Whitney King, she would one day become Whitney Mobley (my daughter-in-law.)
I met Whitney in a friend’s frame shop just one year after an accident that nearly took her life.
I didn’t know. I couldn’t see beyond her gregarious smile and the sun bouncing off her golden locks.
She’s one of those people who never complains about her circumstances. She makes no excuses. She presses on and gives God the glory for her strength.
Later, she told me her story.
After the accident she wasn’t expected to live. The doctors said the odds were against her but that didn’t matter.
God was for her.
He had other plans for Whitney.
Tragedy may have struck her down but it didn’t strike her out!
Whitney shares her testimony and redemption story through her new T-shirt company Found Strong. www.foundstong.com. Here, she shares her God-given creativity and gives back to those in need. I invite you to click here to meet Whitney and visit her site.
Looking forward, pressing on, seeking God. ~ Christy
