I have to admit I almost forgot this year until I looked up into a cloudless, baby-blue September sky.
September 11, 2001. Some people want us to forget. They say remembering is not politically correct.
I believe God wants us to remember, commemorate and celebrate. Not celebrate the lives lost, but celebrate all that was, all that is and all that can be.
God had the Israelites celebrate and commemorate certain days and holidays to remind them He is the One who brings them out of the tragedies, the loss.
He saves. He restores.
For the same reason we should not forget any detail of 9/11. Because from this tragedy we Americans came together, even if only for a short time, and stood shoulder to shoulder without prejudice or malice, as a nation under the One Almighty God whose principles this great country was founded, and we proclaimed liberty and justice for all people.
Let’s remember and do this again—Come together as a united people under the protective hand of the Almighty God.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear them from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Heal us Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
Looking forward, pressing on, and seeking God in every bump and twist in the road.
